Protect Wild Bees Without Buying A Hive

When gardeners decide they want more bees in the yard, the first ideas that come to mind are often installing a honey bee hive or hanging a wooden bee hotel. Both impulses are understandable, but neither is the most effective step for supporting the native bees that actually buzz-pollinate your tomatoes and squash.
