The researchers were careful to note that mosquito consumption varied depending on bat traits, habitat type, temperature, time after sunset, and date, and they concluded that the findings were not sufficient to provide specific guidance for reducing mosquito-vector populations.
That last sentence is important. Scientists found the mosquitoes in bat stomachs, but they stopped short of claiming that bats were making a dent in local mosquito numbers.
