Plantisima publishes practical guides on houseplants, flowers, trees, vegetable gardens and garden pests for home gardeners. This page explains who writes our articles, how they are checked before they go live, where our images come from and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Our mission

We want gardening advice that works in a real home and a real garden: clear steps, honest expectations and care instructions you can actually follow. We write for beginners and experienced gardeners alike, and we focus on the questions people ask when a plant is struggling or a season is about to change.

Who writes for Plantisima

Every article carries the name of the writer who wrote it. Our editor-in-chief, Haris Hadziahmetovic, leads the editorial team and has the final say on what we publish. The whole team is listed on our About Us page.

How our articles are made

  1. Research. Writers choose topics from reader questions and seasonal garden tasks and research them in reliable sources such as university extension services, botanical gardens and plant societies.
  2. Writing. The writer drafts the article. Writers may use AI tools for research, outlines and first drafts (see How we use AI below).
  3. Editing. An editor reviews every article before it is published, checks the facts and edits it for accuracy and clarity.
  4. Updates. We revisit older articles and update or remove them when the advice changes or we find a better answer.

Accuracy and sources

Plant care depends on climate, soil and season. Before publishing, we check care details such as light, watering, hardiness zones and toxicity to pets against trusted horticultural sources. For decisions that depend on where you live, such as planting dates or which plants are invasive in your area, we recommend confirming with your local cooperative extension office or a nursery near you.

Our articles are general gardening information, not medical, veterinary or legal advice. If a person or pet may have eaten a toxic plant, contact a doctor, a veterinarian or a poison control center right away.

How we use AI

AI tools help our writers work faster: they can suggest an outline, summarize research or produce a first draft. They don’t decide what we publish. Every article is edited and fact-checked by a person before it goes live, and our editors are responsible for everything that appears on Plantisima.

Images

Images on Plantisima come from:

  • free image libraries such as Wikimedia Commons, Pexels, Unsplash, Pixabay and Canva, used under their licenses and credited where the license asks for it;
  • images we create or license ourselves;
  • photos gardeners have shared publicly on platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest and Reddit, credited with a link to the original post.

If you own an image on our site and would like it credited differently or removed, email [email protected] with a link to the page, and we will take care of it promptly.

Corrections and feedback

If you spot a mistake, email [email protected] with the article link and what is wrong. We look into every report, fix confirmed errors promptly and, when a correction changes the advice in an article, say so in the article.

Advertising and independence

Plantisima is free to read and is supported by advertising from Google AdSense. Advertisers have no say in what we write, and ads are kept separate from our articles. We don’t publish sponsored articles; if we ever do, they will be clearly labeled as sponsored. We don’t use affiliate links at the moment. If we add them, we will say so in the article and on this page.
